AUTHOR OF "DON'T CURSE YOUR WEDDING BED BEFORE YOU SAY I DO", TARA WHITE, ENCOURAGES SINGLES TO TAKE A VOW OF CELIBACY FOR 2011Tara White, a Spencer, NC native, has much to say about sex before marriage. With young people falling into the trap of pre-marital sex, the epidemic of teen pregnancy and the rapid spread of sexually transmitted diseases, White wants to do what she can to turn the tide. Having experienced the consequences of bad decisions herself, she recounts her life story through the pages of her first book, Don’t Curse Your Wedding Bed Before You Say I Do. As she spreads the message of abstinence, she also wants each and every single person to commit to living a life of celibacy in 2011. Tara says, “One of the reasons I wrote ‘Don’t Curse Your Wedding Bed Before You Say I Do’ is to make single people aware of the pitfalls that I went through. I want to see singles live the life that God has intended for them which is why I am encouraging unmarried people to commit to abstaining. It’s never too late to start.” Tara is encouraging singles who want to live a life of sexual integrity to log on to her website, WeddingBed.net, to sign up for regular messages of encouragement. Those wishing to make their pledges public can post their intentions on Tara’s Facebook page (http://on.fb.me/eou1yH). About the Author, Tara White
We all have witnessed the erosion of morals and principles in our society. With more young people succumbing to temptations at a younger age, some believe the next generation is at stake. Tara White is one of those God-appointed leaders who aims to pull young women back from the brink of sexual immorality to the wholeness and purity God has designed for their lives. It’s that passion that led this Spencer, North Carolina resident to pen her first book, Don’t Curse Your Wedding Bed Before You Say I Do. A candid look at her life and the mistakes she made along the way, the book documents a single woman’s journey and is a clarion call for all singles to live holy lives of celibacy. Hailing from the small town of Salisbury, NC, and born to Andrew I. D. and Diane Harris, Tara grew up in a loving Christian home. She went to church frequently and committed her life to the Lord at a young age. But that didn’t stop her from suffering with issues that many young girls struggle with like low self-esteem and the need to please others, even at her own expense. She says that she ended up “looking for love in the all the wrong places and faces” and made some bad decisions. But ultimately she found herself seeking “the one true love” when she became pregnant. “Although I said the sinner’s prayer when I was young,” says Tara, “it wasn’t until later in life, when I was alone and pregnant, that I really realized that I needed God in my life. I knew I needed to ‘walk the walk’ and live out my life as a Christian woman." Marrying the father, Tito White, of her beautiful baby girl, Tianca, Tara went through some life-altering experiences and initially the marriage was a rocky one. “When we got married, I didn’t know how to be a wife and he didn’t know how to be a husband,” recounts Tara. There would be ups and downs and arguments and tears, a story she recalls through the pages of Don’t Curse Your Wedding Bed Before You Say I Do. The miraculous healing and amazing reconciliation serves as inspiration to anyone who has been in a troubled relationship. Healing broken people and broken relationships is a God-given ministry to Tara and after completing a paid internship for the Department Of Social Services, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Livingstone College in Salisbury. She has worked in the human services/social work field for 16 years. In 1999 Tara, along with her husband and her sister, Aleashia Harris-Brandon, stepped out on faith to start a Residential Treatment Facility for children. Quality Care Developmental Services, Inc. which has served children from Forsyth, Rowan, Cabarrus, Iredell, Stanley, and Union counties since their initial opening continues to serve these counties From the very beginning helping children and families heal has been a ministry for her, the credit which she gives to God. Her passion for others caught the attention of her local area and she was awarded the Humanitarian Award in 2007 from the W.G. Bill Hefner V.A. Medical Center for her work in the community with families and children. A gifted motivational speaker with a passion to inspire young girls to make good decisions, and to identify and release their God-given potential, Tara has a voice to motivate and uplift and will use it to help change today’s generation.
